The KATU Coast Camera is located at the Inn At Spanish Head in Lincoln City. From this location we can see north up the coast, south to the mouth of Siletz Bay, and of course there is the Pacific Ocean itself with its fierce winter storms and dramatic sunsets.

A tsunami is an extremely unlikely event, but it never hurts to be prepared. IF YOU ARE AT THE BEACH AND YOU FEEL AN EARTHQUAKE, drop, cover and hold during the quake and move inland and uphill quickly, or use local evacuation routes. (You may be better off on foot than in your car.) Then wait for an official all clear before returning to the beach.
Even if you don't feel a quake, IF THE OCEAN SUDDENLY RECEDES FROM THE BEACH AND TO A GREATER DISTANCE THAN IS USUAL FOR THAT TIDE, OR IF ALL THE BIRDS WITHIN YOUR VIEW GET UP AND FLY INLAND, a tsunami may be on the way. Move inland and uphill quickly or use the designated evacuation route. Wait for an official all clear before returning to the beach. Download a Tsunami Evacuation Map here. (PDF)
